A2,ADVANCED PORTFOLIO,SHORT FILM

ADVANCED PORTFOLIO,A2,MEDIA

TIMELINES

Students timelines are not detailed enough and some students have not done them. You are A2 students now and a lot more is expected of you. At the moment it is as though you have learnt little from your AS production experience. I need a detailed timeline that gives exact dates and times for the booking of equipment. I need a list of equipment required too. I need to know on what dates you will be location hunting/recce your deadline date for props costumes etc. rehearsal dates for your actors. Dates for camera tests. dates for the ancillary tasks. you need to make clear what ancillary tasks your going to do. What date will your plans for the ancillary task be completed. What dates will you start production of them.

A little mining on the internet for information on the stages of production as well as post production and pre should give you a strong idea of the tasks involved. This is what you should have done originally.

Remember all films without exception have to be filmed December 10th. Ancillary tasks should be completed by then

No-one has handed in a detailed timeline.

One line synopsis

Your blogs should contain a one line synopsis of your film

Homework due 22nd October

You have to research short films. At A2 level you should understand how to do this. Use your books to help. Your looking for institutional information as well as audience. (for your own texts you will have to decide on the audience and the institutional context for your production) This will mean covering all the seven key concepts (MIGRAIN) By now you should know that they are all inter-related.

How are short films produced, distributed and exhibited?

Visit the websites listed in your text books. Find films that you like. get the url link. Fo each film you find you should analyse its technical codes (camera,lighting,mise-en-scene etc as well as issues of representation, narrative, genre. Three detailed analyses (500 words min.) should be provided for the homework. However it is expected that you provide several links to short film that have influenced you
